HKJSL

To maintain Hong Kong's position as an international jade trading centre, and to safeguard the interest of consumers and practitioners in the trade, the Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory was established in 1993. With its cutting edge facilities, it provides a professional, fair, objective and accurate identification service for those in the trade and for the public.

The HKJJA ( formerly the Hong Kong Jade Manufacturers Association ) therefore inaugurated the Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory Ltd. in 1993; equipped with sophisticated instruments such as infrared spectrum, managed by globally accredited gemmologist to provide impartial authentication services and issue certificates.

HOKLAS

In 2004, the HKJSL entered The Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS) of the HKSAR Government. Before the final assessment, the HKJSL spent 2 years in planning, amending and repeated testing to ensure their authentication system could meet the global criteria in terms of stability and reliability.
